From the CWH Archives by Erin Napier - Curator

Today’s
featured picture is an 8”x 10” black and white glossy
photograph of two Royal Air Force ground crew personnel performing
maintenance on a tail turret of a Liberator. The Liberator was an
American four-engined heavy bomber (known by the USAAF as the B-24)
first supplied in small numbers to the RAF in 1940-41. It was soon
found to be unsuitable for bombing operations in Europe and was subsequently
used mainly by RAF Coastal Command for long-range reconnaissance missions
and as a transport aircraft. A Liberator was used by Winston Churchill
as his personal transport. More information on Churchill’s Liberator
is on display in the CWH Exhibit Gallery.
Our M*A*S*H Theme Party & Dance is coming March 6!

All
Volunteers - Please Sign In
CWH
is asking that all volunteers now ensure that they sign-in when coming
into the museum for a volunteer activity. A sign-in book is located
at the Admissions Desk and a new book will be located asap at the
west hangar door. The west hangar door is generally for those volunteers
who have an access card such as engineering, ramp crews, pilots and
air crews. If you access the museum through the west side door, or
the front admission area, please ensure you sign in and out. This
is a Health & Safety related issue and we expect all volunteers
to comply. Thank you.
