This week’s feature from the CWH collection is a 1942 black and white photograph of Lena Millard operating a lathe at the Cockshutt Plow Company Limited in Brantford, Ontario. Cockshutt was involved in aircraft manufacturing during the Second World War.

CWH members who were civilians or in service during the war in Europe, share their
experiences and memories. Be it from the air as a pilot, crewman, or a civilian on the ground come hear their first hand accounts.

‘Voices from the Past’
Project Coordinator Clare Short ,with other ‘Voices’ personnel
will provide a project overview, detailing what they’ve done,
what they’re doing, and where they’re going. With over 350 interviews of
RCAF/RAF veterans ‘in the can’ Clare will provide a glimpse into some of the moving and emotional accounts recorded for posterity with
these World War Two veterans.

Attention Home Wine Makers - Need Bottles?

If you’re a wine maker and looking for some bottles please see Cathy Dowd or her staff in Maintenance. The museum is selling a case of 12 bottles for $5.00.


Social Committee Car Pool Road Trips

The Volunteer Social Committee wants to know if you’re interested in taking part in a couple of road trips. The committee is considering visits to the ‘Box 43’ Fire Museum in Hamilton and the Brantford Military Heritage Museum. If you’re interested please sign-up on the sheets posted on the Volunteer information Board outside of the Archives. If there is enough interest generated then trips will be planned.
