The Northrop F-5 was built under license in Canada by Canadair Ltd. and is know as the CF-5. A total of 204 CF-5s
were produced for the RCAF and Canadian Forces.
The Freedom Fighter has successfully served in a number of air forces worldwide for many years and is appreciated
for its maneuverability and ease to fly.
The refueling lance that protrudes from the starboard side gave the aircraft long distance flight capabilities,
such as trans-Atlantic flights to assist in NATO operations. The probe and drogue system could refuel two aircraft
at the same time from one tanker.
