The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine multi-role fighter built by a European consortium made up of the UK, Germany, Spain and Italy.
Following the Falklands War of April 2, 1982 until June 1, 1982 the Stanley Airfield was heavily damaged so No. 1435 was reformed using Harrier GR.1 jets until May 1985 when the unit was disbanded. In 1988 No. 1435 received 4 Phantom FGR.2s before converting to 4 Panavia Tornado F3s in 1992. In 2009 4 Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 arrived at RAF Mount Pleasant in the Falklands to protect the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands. ZK301/D c/n BS053 built in 2009 was one of the Eurofighters. |
