Description:	The McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) F/A-18 Hornet is a supersonic twin engine all-weather night fighter and attack aircraft and first flew in November 1978. Spanish Air Force ALA 12 “Gatos” (Cats) is based at Torrejon AB. On the tail of ALA 12 aircraft there is a black cat as its unit emblem. The wing is equipped with the EF-18A/B. In 2008 C15-34 c/n 638/A530 code 12-50 was given a special paint scheme to honor the ALA 12 50th Anniversary and continued to wear this scheme for several years.
