Description: The 122nd FW of the Indiana ANG is called “Blacksnakes”, a name Native Americans gave to Anthony Wayne, the "Black Snake." He had his American Revolutionary War troops lie on the ground and wait for the right moment to strike, like the North American Black Snake. Wayne Indiana is named after him. In July 2021 the 100th Anniversary of the Indiana ANG A-10A 80-0244 was painted black and grey with several special markings with the nose featuring a green-eyed snake with fangs.
