Canadian Warplane Heritage
The History of Aviation is an educational program offered to Grades 7, 8, 9 & 10.

While viewing the over twenty-five aircraft in the museum's collection your students will hear the names Mynarski, Gray and Hornell. These are Canada's three Victoria Cross recipients of the air. All gave their lives for "King and Country" and were awarded the Commonwealth's highest award for bravery. At the museum, there are aircraft dedicated to each of these Canadians who faced terrible odds for the sake of others. Each aircraft in the collection played an important role in history.

Let our guides share these stories with your students. At our Memorial area, students can turn the pages of a book containing the names of 18,000 Canadian men and women of the Royal Canadian Air Force who lost their lives during World War II. This field trip contributes to learning outcomes of p20 and p23.
