Canadian Warplane Heritage
The Science of Aviation is an educational program offered to Grades 4,5 & 6.

Whether it's the open cockpit of the Boeing Stearman or the sleek metal of the deHavilland Vampire, the principles of flight never change. Let our guides point out the parts of the aircraft. Ailerons, Elevators, Rudder and Trim won't be just words, they will be working parts that students can identify. Work sheets and clipboards in hand, your students can compare the Tiger Moth and the Avro Lancaster or name the parts of the aircraft. How about aircraft that can land on water or an aircraft carrier? We have examples of each.

Your students will have the opportunity to see first hand Canada's technological developments in the air. They can sketch or discuss with their guide the variations in aircraft they will see on the exhibit floor. This type of visit contributes to many of the learning outcomes of M2 and M5.
