As Patron of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, I was horrified
to hear of the devastating fire in February 1993. I am delighted
to be told of the immense efforts going into rebuilding what was
destroyed and the work that is going into making the museum bigger
and better than before. This year, the 50th Anniversary of the
Landings in Normandy, reminds us that it is more important than
ever to preserve as many historically significant military aircraft
and aviation artifacts as possible. These continue to remind us
of the huge contribution Canadians made to the Allied cause for
the preservation of peace.
I send
my very best wishes for the success of such an ambitious endeavor
in raising funds for your new museum facility.
